What ingredients do you use in your products?
You’ll find every ingredient listed right on our boxes and product pages—no secrets here. Our laundry and cleaning products are made with ingredients such as coconut oil soap flakes, natural salts, and natural & essential oils. What’s missing? Skin-irritating and potentially toxic ingredients like petrochemicals, brighteners, dyes, and other unnecessary nonsense. If you’re curious about our choices, ask us anything on our contact page. I like to wash in cold water. Will your Laundry Soap dissolve in cold water or do I have to use hot?
Our Laundry Soap dissolves best in warm or hot water, but cold-water fans, don’t worry. We’ve got you. Just dissolve 1.5 tablespoons in about 8 oz of hot water (we like to shake it up in a jar kept handy on the laundry shelf). Pour the mixture into the drum, add your laundry, and wash with confidence on cold.
Is it okay to use your Laundry Soap in my HE washer or front-load washer?
Yep. Our Laundry Soap is tested and safe for all machines, including HE.
Is your Laundry Soap safe for cloth diapers?
Yes. While our scented formulas are gentle, we recommend our Fragrance Free option for baby items. After all, a newborn’s natural scent is sweet enough.
How much do I use?
For Laundry Soap, 1.5 tablespoons is plenty for a standard load—meaning your washer is more than half full but not crammed to bursting. For our Surface and Dish Soaps, a light sprinkle on a sponge (or in a sink full of water) is plenty for a sparkling clean.
What’s the difference between laundry soap and laundry detergent?
Detergents—even “plant-based” ones—usually hide petroleum. The laundry and cleaning product aisle is unregulated, so words like “natural”, “plant-powered” or “derived” can still mean it’s loaded with nasty ingredients. Soap is different: no petroleum, no greenwashing. Just effective cleaning with less impact on you and the planet.
Are your products plant-based and/or vegan?
Yes, our soaps are plant-based, without the hidden petroleum you’ll find in other so-called plant-based products. As for vegan: most of our products are. The exception? Our Wool Dryer Balls, which are made with 100% New Zealand wool.
Do your products clean the way I need them to?
Absolutely. Soap works brilliantly at breaking down stains, smells, microbes, and dirt. Independent testing shows our Laundry Soap performs as well as the leading sustainable laundry detergents. Now that’s a powerful clean.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
You bet. All our products are dermatologist-tested hypoallergenic. Of course, any ingredient can be a potential allergen for someone. Are your products safe for use around children and babies?
Yes—when used as directed. Parents often tell us our soap is their go-to for cloth diapers. But as with all cleaning products, common sense applies.
Are your products safe for use around pets?
You know it. Our products are safe for use around most pets and pet spaces when used as directed, because pets are family too.
How do you use your products?
Our Laundry Soap is used just like any other laundry product, with one note: add our powder directly into the washer drum with your clothes, not the detergent tray. For our Surface Soap, we recommend sprinkling a small amount onto your sponge rather than directly on the surface. Our Dish Soap can be added directly to a sink full of water or sprinkled on your sponge.
What kind of fragrances do you use?
Only natural and essential oils—never synthetics, which usually hide petroleum. All our products are hypoallergenic and available fragrance-free. Because options are good.

Do you test your products on animals?
Never. All of our products are certified cruelty-free by the Leaping Bunny program.
Are your products eco-friendly?
Yes. Our products are free from petrochemicals, dyes, synthetic preservatives, and other pollutants. Our clay-lined cardboard packaging is fully recyclable. We ditched the plastic jugs and the plastic scoops and keep working to reduce plastic use everywhere we can, even in the glue that seals our boxes. Really.
Orders, Shipping and Returns
I’ve just placed my order online. When will it ship?
Thanks for your order—you’ve got great taste. Orders placed Monday–Friday ship the next business day. Weekend orders go out on Monday. Shipping usually takes 3–5 days, and you’ll get tracking info as soon as your order’s on its way.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free for orders over $35 in the contiguous U.S. For orders less than $35, we charge a flat fee.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet, but we hope to. Drop us a note if you’d like to be notified when we expand.
